The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver
Book Number:RC 47078
3 sound cassettes
Series: Lincoln Rhyme novel

Retired forensic scientist and criminologist Lincoln Rhyme is enlisted to
track down a serial murderer who is stalking victims in New York City.
Injured on the job and now a quadriplegic, Rhyme can move one
finger--enabling him to use his computer. Assisted by policewoman Amelia
Sachs, Rhyme races against time to find the killer. Includes a glossary of
forensic terms. Violence and strong language.
What can I say? Creepy, so creepy that I was here by myself and had to turn
off the book from time to time, but couldn't do it for long as I had to know
what happened. This was my first Deaver novel and not my last. I was blown
away by the ending. I give it a big 5 out of 5.
Happy reading,
Carla/TexasRed

No the film was based on the book and wasn't a patch on the book.

Jeffrey Deaver is a pretty good mystery writer. His plots have twists in them that it is just impossible to anticipate--though I found his film scout series (can't remember what the guy's name was) incredibly boring, but Lincoln Rhymes rules! :-)

Oh, and Deaver's character development is fascinating. All his characters have a major chip on their shoulder, and most of them have some sort of physical inadequacies. It's really interesting, makes you wonder what that's all about.
